Quercus pagodifolia
The Cherrybark Oak (Quercus pagodifolia) is a large deciduous tree native to the southeastern United States, commonly found in moist, well-drained soils along rivers and floodplains. Growing 60-80 feet tall with a straight trunk and a rounded crown, it features dark green, glossy leaves with pointed lobes that resemble those of the cherry tree, giving it its name. In the fall, the leaves turn yellow to red. The tree produces acorns that are a valuable food source for wildlife. Known for its strong, durable wood, the Cherrybark Oak is used in furniture, flooring, and construction, and is also valued for its shade and aesthetic beauty in landscapes.
