Description
Pinus virginiana
The Virginia Pine is a small to medium-sized evergreen tree native to the eastern United States. Known for its twisted, short needles and irregular shape, it thrives in poor, dry soils and is often found in disturbed or upland areas. The tree produces small pine cones and is valued for its fast growth and adaptability. Virginia Pine wood is used in construction, pulpwood, and paper products. Though less commercially sought after than other pines, it is a resilient species, commonly used for reforestation and erosion control.
