Albizia julibrissin
The Mimosa (Albizia julibrissin), also known as the Persian Silk Tree or Silk Tree, is a fast-growing deciduous tree native to Asia and widely cultivated in warm climates for its ornamental beauty. It typically grows 20–40 feet tall with a broad, spreading canopy. The tree is recognized for its fern-like, bipinnate leaves that close at night and its fragrant, fluffy pink flowers that bloom in summer, resembling silky threads. These flowers attract bees, butterflies, and hummingbirds. While admired for its delicate appearance and shade-providing canopy, the Mimosa can be invasive in some regions due to its prolific seed production and adaptability.
