Pistache chinensis
The Chinese Pistache (Pistacia chinensis) is a deciduous tree native to China, prized for its striking fall color and adaptability. It features glossy, dark green pinnate leaves that turn vibrant shades of red, orange, and yellow in the autumn, creating a stunning display. In spring, the tree produces small, inconspicuous flowers that are typically wind-pollinated, followed by clusters of round, red fruit that mature to a purple color. The bark is smooth and grayish-brown. Chinese Pistache thrives in a variety of soil types, including drought-tolerant conditions, and prefers full sun. It is often used in landscaping for its beauty, shade, and low maintenance.
